Sport Fan Behavior

One of the most engaging classes within the program was sport fan behavior, more commonly known as sport marketing. Dr. Webster challenged us to think and apply sport behavior constructs to projects such as Pitch-An-Athlete and a research board.

Pitch-An-Athlete Project

Marketing Pitch

My colleague and I were tasked to pitch our firm's athlete, Nick Bosa, to Alfa Romeo based on the Shark Tank reality show format. Providing a SWOT analysis of both the client and the company and the ethos of each representative, we created a narrative between the two brands to create a product. Our campaign and marketing deliverables were top-tier, allowing us to receive the highest compliments and grades (perfect pitch) in the class.

Marketing Research Project

Qualitative Research Approach

With my research partner, we wanted to explore the behavior and attitudes surrounding a newer concept in sport, fantasy sport leagues. Utilizing a qualitative approach, we were able to conduct two focus groups using a semi-structured interview format. Our findings have provided a solid foundation for further quantitative reserach.

Exploring the Relationship of the Psychological Connection Between Fantasy Sports and Fandom

Marketing Synthesis Essays

Each week we were responsible for reading scholarly articles based on various topics within sport marketing. From class discussions and resources, we had to write weekly synthesis essays that demonstrated we understood each marketing concept.
